March 4-8 Golfing Around Miami

We arrived in Miami, got our luggage and rental car and headed north about an hour to Boca Raton to go to ST Andrews Golf Club, where Bob's good friend, Paul Clivio, is the head golf pro, He gave Bob a lesson and then we went out to play on one of their two courses. When we finished we had dinner in Boca Raton at a retaurant called Grand Luxe Cafe, which looked exactly like the Cheesecake Factory and we found out it is a Cheesecake Factory Corporation restaurant chain.

Then we drove back to Miami to an area called Doral. We are on the edge of the Doral golf course where we are playing on Thursday. This course hosts an annual PGA golf tournament simply called the Doral. Our hotel room is fabulous! It is large, has a kitchenette and huge bathroom that has separate little rooms for the toilet and shower and has a jacuzzi. The shower head is the size of a dinner plate! There is a TV in the bathroom, so is in heaven!

Thursday we played golf on the Blue Monster course at the Doral. Hard course!

On Friday we played at Doral again, on one of their other 4 courses, called the Gold course. Bob found a website called lastminutegolf.com, and we played for almost half of what we would have paid if we called and made a reservation!

The 18th hole was a par 4, with an island green. I had a good tee shot, but was going to lay up in front of the water and hit a wedge to the green, but Bob made me hit a REAL shot from where I was, 135 yards to the hole and I got on, and got a par. Yay!
