We went on a mountain bike tour of St Kitts today. It is by far the loveliest island we have been to. It is clean and the landscapes are beautiful.
The bike ride was strenuous since the island is so hilly.
We biked over to the resort area of the island, which is on the southern portion. This is the Marriott, which looked to us like the largest hotel there. You can see part of the golf course behind the hotel. We could come back here for a vacation! This is the Atlantic side of the island and our guide told us most people don't swim on that side because of the strong surf and undertows, but you can see there are reefs that protect the beaches at the hotel.

This photo below is in the opposite direction from the photo above. We were facing south, toward the tail of the island and beyond St Kitts is the sister island of Nevis. Nevis, the mountain in the background, has a 2 mile wide channel of ocean separating it from St Kitts. As you look at this photo, the Caribbean ocean is on the right side and the Atlantic ocean is on the left.

Our bike ride included a stop at the beach so we could swim.

We headed back to the ship after a short shopping trip in the stores near the port. Most of the islands have lots of shops near the ports.
